Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare autoimmune disorder that may occur after an infection. Patients receive medical and pharmacological treatment as the primary intervention, and physical rehabilitation to address musculoskeletal weakness and neurologic dysfunction. The purpose of this clinical summary is to highlight the physical therapist's contribution to the identification of Guillain-Barré syndrome and the prevention and management of secondary complications.
